Pierre Landry

Espace lumière géométrique

Over the years, my practice has evolved in terms of the relationship that has grown up between matter, light and space. Cutting out space in geometrical forms allows me to enter into an immaterial world through the play of light in all its imaginable forms and latitudes. And within a bi-dimensional research, the juxtaposed triangular forms suggest infinite tri-dimensional spaces.

In the world of exploration, black and white inspires me! In this piece, I use composite materials in black, white and red finishes, where LED lights interact with the work as a whole. Two self-supporting wall screens accentuate and illuminate the surrounding space. Each of the elements can be looked at or interpreted separately.

Espace lumière géométrique (‘Geometrical Light Space’) both reveals itself and should be viewed from left to right, like a book. The spectator is invited to approach and to discover other dimensions of the sculpture, in particular its large format black and white
